Greetings,
My name is Kari Kramer I was a part of both of the teams WACC (Whittier Area Community Church) sent to ABC this summer. In August we sent a team of 15 people with the idea we would paint the clinic and set up the equipment for a Sept. grand opening. Since the big "Red Container" didn't arrive while we were there the team prepped the walls, masked off wood work and switch plates, and basically got the walls ready to be painted. The team arrived home in California on the very day that the container arrived at the ABC campus.
So William and Josh (workers at ABC Malawi) oversaw the unloading of the container, painted the inside of the clinic and finished up the necessary doors, locks, glass for the windows & electrical work in preparation for the big day.
October 23 a team of 5 ladies left Californian to journey back to Malawi and finish what we had started. We were so excited to be back. We got to work right away and worked very hard to get the finishing touches done so that the Malawi Miracle Money would have done it's best to provide a clean, well stocked clinic where the children of Malawi may come and receive top notch medical services. We hung curtains, sorted thru blankets, quilts and sheets, assembled cash carts, exam tables and unwrapped the only Incubator in the entire country of Malawi so that by the 'Grand Opening' everything would be in it's place.
Friday was a glorious day. I did a final walk thru, the floors were clean the beds were made and the curtains were hung shielding the rooms from the glaring sunlight. A beautiful arch of flowers adorned the front door and the children were ready to sing. It was a great day especially for those who had been involved from the beginning this was a day of celebration. After the speeches were done and the doors were opened the response was better then I could have ever imagined. The students from the Academy and the college expressed the desire to be sick if they could come and be treated at our clinic.
'Team Malawi '08' the 15 people who came in August and the 5 ladies dubbed 'Team Ester' who came in October came with a desire to help the staff at ABC provide the best medical facility we could. The people of Whittier Area Community Church gave from their hearts some gave the widow's mite.
But God took our offering and has multiplied it and blessed it and now a clinic stands in the small country of Malawi as a testament to God's love and unending grace towards us. We are so grateful that we were allowed to be a part of what God is doing in Malawi.
I have included 2 pictures, one from each team. This is probably more than you had bargained for but when I start to talk about the clinic I can get carried away.
