111 - English I - 3 hours:
This course is designed to equip the freshman students
with college-level reading and writing, proficiency. The students
will analyze various essays, prepare book reports, and study spelling,
parts of speech and punctuation.
112 - English II - 3 hours:
A concentration of basic communication skills in
writing and reading with a view to developing basic mechanical correctness,
good clear prose writing, and an ability to read literature closely,
imaginatively and critically, and write about it analytically. Experience
in writing essays and the research paper.
309 - Literature - 3 hours:
The course consists of readings from various literary
genres. Modern video productions of some of these works will be
viewed to complement the readings. All the works will be analyzed
from a Christian perspective. The readings will also be analyzed
from a literary critical perspective to appreciate particular forms
and devices employed in each genre.
