450 - Introduction to Bible Translation:
This course seeks to explain the motivation for translating the Bible, both throughout the last 2,000 years and in order to answer the question "why translate today?" The fundamental principles of Bible translation will be studied and then there will be a more detailed study of a few of the specific techniques required. The course will also highlight the practical issues of what is involved in a Bible translation project in an African language. Despite this being an introductory course there will be an emphasis on students applying the principles learn to their own mother tongue.
